After doing months of research, I found that the "market" leader or "top brand" is not always the best. For my use, the Navien NR-210A was the clear winner for: size, btu, EF, therms (gas), min GPM (zero) and warranty. In the 2 months of ownership (replacing a 17yr old A.O. Smith 40G tank), I have found that washer, dishwasher and shower, all used at the same time at 20degree(F) was perfect. 2 showers perfect. Bath and shower perfect.
Consumers need to do more research than going with Big Box stores and marketing fluff. See the energystar.gov link I provided (on my name), which is very helpful.
